Submitted by Nathalie on Mon, 11/09/2015 - 10:05The international community is devoting great energy to the critical task of financing sustainable development post-2015 and looking towards the 3rd Conference on Financing for Development (FfD3) in Addis Ababa. A huge volume of public and private investment is needed to reduce poverty, cope with climate change and promote prosperity in the coming decades. Many countries face a sizable infrastructure gap and anticipate new demands from population growth and continued urbanization (more than 2.5 billion urban dwellers by 2050, mostly in developing countries).
Financing local and regional governments, the missing link in sustainable development finance
Submitted by Nathalie on Wed, 11/04/2015 - 16:50This booklet contains the recommendations of the Global Task Force of Local and Regional Governments (LRGs) (which gathers over 30 networks that are active internationally) for the Third International Conference on Financing for Development, that took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on July 2015.
How can Local and Regional Governments mobilize part of the wealth produced within their jurisdiction (domestic resources) to finance and support development?
What steps are necessary to enable them to play these roles?

Submitted by Dani on Thu, 08/06/2015 - 16:43The Ecological Sequestration Trust convened a high-level meeting from 24 to 28 February, 2015, in the Bellagio Centre of The Rockefeller Foundation, on how to finance improved planetary health and the delivery of the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.
The meeting gathered leading practitioners, including UCLG Committee on Local Finance for Development, with the aim to producing this report with new insights into tackling the challenge of how to rapidly scale up SDG delivery globally.
